At KR Group, we’re on a mission to re-energise the construction industry and build a more sustainable future. As part of this journey, our KR SkillsHub division is expanding — and we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Trainer to help shape the next generation of skilled professionals.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality training, supporting accreditation standards, and driving the growth of our SkillsHub division offering across the Northeast of Scotland. You’ll be based at our Newburgh HQ and on-site, working with both internal teams and external learners.
This is a full-time position, but we would consider part-time hours — please state your preference when applying.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be at the heart of our training delivery — bringing energy, expertise, and innovation to every session. From hands-on practical instruction to developing new courses, you’ll ensure our learners gain the skills, confidence, and qualifications they need to succeed.
You’ll also play a key role in maintaining quality standards, supporting compliance, and helping to grow KR SkillsHub into a leading training provider.
Your day-to-day responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, high-quality training to internal teams and external participants
- Provide practical, hands-on instruction aligned with real site conditions
- Adapt your delivery style to suit different learning needs and abilities
- Develop and update training programmes and materials in line with industry standards
- Assess learner competency and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate training and assessment records
- Support learners in achieving recognised qualifications and certifications
- Work with accreditation bodies (e.g. NPORS, FASET, Scottish Qualifications) to ensure compliance
- Promote and embed high standards of health, safety and quality across all training
- Support audits, verification processes and continuous improvement
- Contribute to the growth and development of KR SkillsHub, including new ideas and opportunities
- Build strong relationships with partners and promote KR Group’s training services

Who can apply
We’re looking for someone who combines practical construction experience with a passion for developing others.
Essential:
- 2–5 years’ hands-on construction experience
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, and site practices
- Experience delivering or supporting training (formal or informal)
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage and motivate learners
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with a focus on safety and quality
Desirable:
- Teaching or trainer qualification
- Assessor qualification
- Experience with accreditation bodies and audit processes
- Experience developing training programmes or contributing to business growth
