About the role

We’re looking for a Steel & Cladding Estimator to play a key role within our Operations team at KR Group, focusing on our KR AgriBuild division. This is a hands-on, commercially focused position where you’ll be instrumental in turning drawings into accurate, competitive quotations and supporting projects from tender stage through to completion.

Working from our Newburgh site office, you’ll collaborate closely with our Directors, Site Supervisors, suppliers and clients, helping us deliver high-quality steel and cladding solutions while supporting the wider growth of the business.

What you’ll be doing
  • Preparing detailed quotations and tenders from drawings and specifications
  • Analysing materials, labour, time and costs to produce accurate pricing
  • Liaising with suppliers to secure best rates and procure materials and plant
  • Assisting with site surveys where required
  • Creating and managing programme schedules, tracking progress and changes
  • Producing sales invoices, valuations, variations and retention tracking
  • Working closely with Directors, Site Supervisors, clients, quantity surveyors and subcontractors to capture changes and ensure timely payments
  • Supporting project costings, job close-out and financial reporting
  • Maintaining accurate costing data, rates databases and records
  • Contributing to the general running and ongoing development of the business
What we’re looking for

We’re open to experienced estimators and those developing their career in construction estimating. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience in a similar estimating or commercial role (or strong transferable skills)
  • A good understanding of construction processes, particularly steel and cladding
  • The ability to read and interpret detailed drawings
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines under pressure
  • A proactive, positive approach and willingness to learn and improve

Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate the right experience, attitude and capability.
