Project overview
In 2021, a major energy client relocated their offices from Tullos to the Silver Fin office development in Aberdeen city centre.
As part of the move, they aimed to create a brighter, more open workspace for their staff.
Scope of work
We partnered with Space Solutions and the client to deliver structural modifications to the new office.
Our team replaced existing steel bracing and installed six tonnes of structural and ancillary steelwork. This included two new central staircases, designed to enhance flow and accessibility within the space.
Materials
We supplied and installed six tonnes of structural and ancillary steel, secured with over 530 bolts.
The staircases alone weighed 5.4 tonnes and consisted of roughly 125 steel components and 177 flat plates.
These elements combined to create strong, visually striking features within the office.
Challenges and highlights
Working in a busy city centre brought logistical challenges. The Silver Fin site had limited space for deliveries, and heavy traffic made access difficult.
On top of that, our team had to hand-ball steel components into the live building site—no easy task.
Despite these constraints, we completed the project efficiently and safely.
Our experienced team ensured everything ran smoothly, from planning through to installation.
The result is a bright, modern office space that met the client’s expectations and supported their new working environment.
