KR Group were contracted by Gow’s to carry out the supply, manufacture & installation of a new building at Dounreay Nuclear site near Thurso.
The project started with our CAD team designing the building per the client’s requests. After receiving approval, they produced fabrication drawings, allowing our workshop team to start the steel fabrication process. Once we fabricated the steel, we tested it and sent it off to undergo powder coating.
After this, they delivered the steel to Dounreay Nuclear Site and where it was then erected. Once completed, the team was able to move on to the next stage of the project.
Our Team started the installation of roof and wall cladding using the cladding fabrication drawings our CAD team produced earlier. Following the completion of the cladding installation, we added the finishing touches by supplying, erecting, and installing a pipe bridge and walkway.
This was another high-profile energy build where our team utilised their skills to deliver this project to the highest standard for our client Gow’s, whilst adhering to the strict safety & security measures. In the end, we successfully completed the project within the scheduled timeframe and the agreed-upon budget.
Sandra Gow, the director of Gow’s said this about the project:
“We would like to take the opportunity to thank KR Steel for the fantastic work carried out in a very challenging environment and know that our client was very impressed with your workmanship. KR Steel are a very professional company who we look forward to working with on future opportunities.”
