KRedit Spotlight – Lucy Duncan

We are proud to share another of our amazing KRedit students who has been working in the office! Lucy has been supporting the office team with various tasks, helping her get a good overview of the company and everyone’s roles.

Tell me a bit about yourself and what you’ve been doing at KR Group

My name is Lucy, I am 16 years old, and I went to Inverurie Academy. I am currently completing work experience with KR Group, where I have been gaining a valuable insight into the business and the different roles within the company.

During my time at KR Group, I have supported a variety of tasks across the office. My responsibilities have included assisting with reception duties, as well as contributing to internal communications. In addition, I have supported corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities and helped to organise charity events, including an upcoming bingo fundraiser in aid of UCAN. Alongside this, I have also really enjoyed being involved in the company’s social media.

What is your favourite task in the office?

My favourite task in the office is helping with social media. It’s always a fun task! I can be creative and use some of my ideas to promote different parts of the business.

What skills do you need to work in an office?

I have learned that strong organisational skills, teamwork, and effective communication are essential when working in an office environment. I believe these skills are key to ensuring that everything runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

Why do you like working at KR Group?

I am really enjoying my time at KR Group. The team has been extremely welcoming, friendly, and supportive, which has made it a very positive environment to work in.

Where do you see yourself in a few years – what kind of job would you like to have?

Looking ahead, I hope to have a career in psychology. I have secured a place to study Social Sciences at NESCOL and plan to continue on to university to study psychology. Helping people is very important to me, and I think this career path will allow me to make a meaningful difference.

Who is your role model or someone you look up to?

My role model is my mum. She is a hard worker and an amazing person which has inspired me to go down a similar career path as her. She is a mental health nurse and gets to help people everyday which is what I would like to do.
