KR Group’s 2026 Apprentice Intake

As part of our 2026 intake, KR Group has welcomed six new apprentices and trainees to the team.

Working across our workshop, site and office, they are learning on the job, developing their skills and gaining hands-on experience alongside our existing team as they begin their careers in construction.

Megan Skene – Business & Admin Modern Apprenticeship (Operations Assistant)

Based at our Newburgh HQ, Megan supports the day-to-day administration of the business, with a particular focus on plant and fleet. She’ll soon begin her Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration at NESCOL, combining her college studies with the practical experience she’s already building in the role.

Jack Robertson – Trainee Estimating Assistant

Jack has joined KR Group part-time as a Trainee Estimating Assistant, while also supporting our site survey team. Having recently gained his drone pilot licence, Jack will support the family business through our site surveys and building inspections, bringing another useful capability to the team as he develops his experience in construction.

Lewis Thomson – Welding & Fabricating Modern Apprenticeship

Lewis is the latest addition to our welding workshop. After a successful work placement in his last year of school, we were delighted to offer him a full time apprenticeship. Lewis will spend two days a week at college, with the other three in our workshop, putting what he learns into practice and developing his welding and fabrication skills.

Kain Sivewright – Welding & Fabricating Modern Apprenticeship

Kain is progressing through his Modern Apprenticeship in Welding and Fabrication, having already completed part of his training. He splits his time between our workshop and project sites, gaining experience in different aspects of the trade as he works towards completing his qualification.

Ethan Robertson – Site Operative Traineeship

Ethan has been working on many of our sites across the North East whilst completing his Site Operative Traineeship. He will soon complete a qualification to become a Cladding Specialist. Having started out working part-time in the family business, it’s great to see him building his experience and working towards a specialist role within the team.

Callum Robertson – Site Operative Traineeship

After completing his degree at RGU, Callum has joined the family business and is now working with our site teams across KR Group projects. Alongside learning how cladding systems are installed on site, he’s working towards a qualification as a Cladding Specialist, developing the technical knowledge and skills needed to progress in the trade.

Nicola Fraser, Business Director, added:

“We take on apprentices because we want to give young people a hands-on opportunity to learn, develop and build a future in construction. They bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm, and investing in them helps us grow the skills our business and the wider industry need. Well done to all our apprentices and trainees for the effort you’re putting in – we’re proud to have you as part of the KR Group team and look forward to seeing where you go!“
