The KR Group team are celebrating reaching the finals of The Trades Awards in two categories: Sustainability in Construction and Rising Star.

In its 12th year, The Trades Awards bring together Construction businesses of all sizes and disciplines to celebrate North-East Scotland’s best and brightest. Hosted by Aberdeen-based marketing agency, Mearns & Gill, the event seeks to ‘shine a spotlight on the remarkable people, projects, and companies working across the region’.

Finalists will come together for the awards ceremony on Friday 1st November 2024 at Ardoe House in Aberdeen.

Ahead of the event, we’ll be spotlighting the two nominations. First, let’s hear more about Caitlin Bremner; our Operations Coordinator shortlisted for the Rising Star award.

A bit about our Rising Star

Caitlin joined the KR Group team in 2021 after leaving school, and embarked on a Modern Apprenticeship in Business Administration. Embracing every learning opportunity given, she completed her apprenticeship, and continued to excel in her role with the company.

Following her strong start, Caitlin went on to upskill in QHSE, achieving IOSH, NEBOSH and CSCS qualifications. As Operations Support, she is now responsible for coordinating the Estimating team, and mentoring other young people who come into the business.

A shining talent in Construction

KR Group Business Director, Nicola Fraser commented, “Caitlin holds a high level of autonomy and trust in her position, and is keen to progress in the industry. Her knowledge of terminology and commercial aspects is commendable, and she has earned respect from her office and site peers. Caitlin isn’t afraid of getting stuck in, even if it’s something new for her.”

Nicola continues, “It is fantastic to see such shining talent in construction. Caitlin is someone who is passionate about the industry and seeks ways to overcome barriers.”

Caitlin says, “I feel like it hasn’t sunk in yet, that I’ve been nominated for this award. If you know me, one of my biggest struggles is believing in myself. I’m so grateful that KR Group can see the potential I have. I am looking forward to awards night and celebrating with the other finalist and winners.”
