A 20-strong team of walkers from KR Group donned their trainers and tartan to take part in the 2024 Kiltwalk on the 2nd of June.

Team ‘Steely Striders’, made up of KR Group staff and supporters, walked from Aberdeen to Banchory, covering a total of 18 miles.

They were delighted to raise over £2,500 for their nominated charity, Grampian Opportunities, who support local people living with disabilities.

The charity aims to develop the employability skills of people with disabilities. They do this through activities such as life skills groups, community activities, learning programs, and peer support group. Based in Inverurie, they work across Aberdeen City, Shire, and Moray to provide support across communities in these areas.

The team walked away with sore feet, but had a great day in the sunshine, soaking up the community spirit. KR Group’s Operations Coordinator, Caitlin, said this about her experience, “This was my first year doing the Kiltwalk and it wasn’t easy, but I would 100% do it again – the feeling at the end definitely made the pain worth it!”.

Nicola Fraser, Business Director at KR Group said, “This years kiltwalk was an amazing experience. The weather was on our side and the event was so well organised – great atmosphere from start to finish. Thank you to our walkers from the KR team and community for taking part and raising much-needed funds for Grampian Opportunities. The money raised will truly benefit the charity and its service users.”
