After an 3 extremely interesting months, my fantastic internship with KR Group has come to an end. Here, I could indulge my passion, while working and making a real contribution to creating sustainable solutions – not just learn and talk about it!

KR Group is a wonderful organisation where they ‘walk the talk’. Their key values of innovation, investing in sustainability and the future, safety and well-being of people, consulting, and collaboration are all very skilfully embodied in their actions and business processes.

The employees draw as much inspiration from each other and the team as the organisation does from each employee. The leaders of KR Group, Nicola and Kenny, exemplify the true mantra of success: dedicated, hard work. Ellen, my mentor, helped me ‘figure things out’ rather than just know about things.

In three months, I played a large part in the planning around their sustainability initiatives, such as KR Bon Reduction, and also had the opportunity to attend the finals of the Federation of Small Business Awards.

It has been an absolute pleasure working at KR Group and it will always have a special place in my heart – as the place where I started my career in Sustainability, and met wonderful colleagues. For now, I’m excited to completed this chapter, and look forward to successfully studying and completing my master’s course, traveling, and exploring Scotland further before starting another new opportunity.
