KR Sheet Metal was appointed to fabricate and supply loose steel columns and beams for the Montrose Alpha offshore platform windwall replacement project. Our team delivered a coordinated package complete with fabrication drawings, IFC model, coatings and certification to support installation offshore.
Scope of work
Our scope included the fabrication of loose steel columns and beams complete with welded end plates and shims for bolted connections.
- Steel bracing and slotted plates to allow on-site adjustment.
- Swivel hoists fitted to columns to enable safe lifting and handling.
- Hand-folded 1.2mm galvanised steel cladding and flashings manufactured to the client’s bespoke profile.
- Lap fixings, main fixings, bolt sets, neoprene pads and strips.
- Detailed steelwork and cladding drawings together with an IFC model.
- Full material certification, MMT documentation, MSDS (where applicable), and packaged weights and dimensions for transportation.
Results
Our sheet metal team manufactured the bespoke components which met Aurora Energy’s specific project requirements for their offshore windwall project, while meeting the stringent quality and traceability requirements of the oil and gas sector.
