We are pleased to share another fantastic office work experience student, Kodi. Kodi has been part of our KRedit programme and has been in the office for a few shifts over the summer to gain some experience.
Tell me a bit about yourself and what you’ve been doing at KR Group
My name is Kodi and I am 14 years old. I have just gone into 4th year at Ellon Academy.
During the summer holidays, I’ve been working with KR Group and I have done a variety of jobs to help in the office. I’ve learned a basic understanding for all reception duties, as well as some scanning and filing. I have also created posters for internal communications and to have up in the office. No matter what task I’ve been assigned to do, I have enjoyed every one of them.
What is an area you have particularly enjoyed and why?
One area I’ve particularly enjoyed was learning reception duties because there was something different every day. This included different deliveries and phone calls, and it was exciting to see this.
What made you want to do work experience with KR Group – what stood out to you?
Many of my friends at school had talked kindly about KR Group, so I decided to try and apply for a summer job. It was great to gain some work experience throughout the summer as I don’t have much time during the school term.
How do you think your experience will help you in the future?
Getting this work experience early in my career will give me a better chance of getting admin jobs in the future. It will also put me at an advantage compared to people who have little or no experience, because I will already have some useful skills and knowledge.
