Now that 2025 has come to a close, KR Group is proud to reflect on our charity of the year partnership with Men in Mind. Over the past year, we have supported their vital work to improve men’s mental health, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to mental health awareness within the construction industry and beyond.

Supporting men’s mental health through fundraising

Throughout 2025, KR Group team members took part in a range of fundraising activities in support of Men in Mind. These included company-wide challenges, fundraising events, and internal initiatives.

Thanks to the collective efforts of our people and community, we are proud to have raised over £5,600. These funds will help the charity continue delivering accessible peer-to-peer mental health support and community-based services for those who may otherwise struggle to access help.

“Choosing Men in Mind as our charity of the year was an incredibly important decision for KR Group,” said Karen McAra, HR Business Partner and Charity Committee Lead.

“Mental health remains a critical issue within construction and across all men, and this partnership has helped create meaningful conversations, reduce stigma, and support a charity making a real difference. The engagement shown by our teams throughout 2025 has been something we are extremely proud of.”

Social media support and awareness campaigns

In addition to fundraising, KR Group’s marketing team provided volunteer social media support to Men in Mind throughout 2025. This included creating, scheduling, and sharing content directly across Men in Mind’s social media channels. They promoted key messages, mental health resources, and important awareness days. This support strengthened Men in Mind’s online presence, amplified their voice, and helped reach more people in the local community.

Why mental health in construction matters

The construction industry continues to face mental health challenges, with men statistically at higher risk of poor mental health outcomes. Long working hours, physical demands, job pressures, and a traditionally male-dominated culture can make it difficult for individuals to speak openly. At KR Group, we believe mental health is just as important as physical safety, and supporting Men in Mind aligns with our wider commitment to wellbeing.

Supporting the growth of Men in Mind

Supporting Men in Mind’s continued growth has been an important part of this partnership. Their focus on early intervention, accessible support, and creating safe spaces for open conversation closely aligns with KR Group’s values.

Over the past year, the charity has expanded its services to include additional groups across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. It also launched Women in Mind, a peer-to-peer support service for women in the local area.

“The team at MIM would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at KR Group for their incredible fundraising efforts throughout 2025,” said Andy Joss, Co-Founder of Men in Mind.

“Your support has been nothing short of amazing and will make a significant difference as we continue our work in the years ahead. We would also like to extend a very special thank you to KR Group’s Business and Accounts Assistant, Amy, who has been fantastic in supporting our social media over the past year — a true superstar. Once again, thank you all for choosing MIM as your Charity of the Year. It truly means the world to us.”

Our commitment beyond 2025

Our charity of the year partnership with Men in Mind has had a lasting impact on KR Group. It has reinforced the importance of prioritising mental health across our organisation. We are proud of our teams’ efforts and grateful to everyone who contributed through fundraising, awareness sharing, and meaningful conversations.
