‘CELEBRATING SMALL BUSINESS’ AWARDS

KR Group attended the recent FSB Awards as finalists

On 31st March, our team swapped the hard hats for heels and made their way to Edinburgh’s Waldorf Astoria for an afternoon celebrating some of the UK’s best small businesses.

KR Group were proud finalists for the FSB Sustainability category, alongside Dunnet Bay Distiller’s Rockrose Gin, and Angus Soft Fruits.

We were shortlisted thanks to our circular economic solution to cladding waste, aptly named ‘KR Bon Reduction’. Over the next five years, we hope to divert 2,498 tonnes of cladding waste from landfill by repurposing it into new product.

Ellen, our Product Development Manager, oversees our Sustainability projects and set our pilot scheme initiative KR Bon Reduction into motion.

She explains, “We’re really proud this project is being recognised on a national scale, and that we had the opportunity to represent the construction industry at the awards.”

Ellen was joined by Lauren, our Finance Assistant, and Shree, our Sustainability Marketing Intern, as they attended the finals of FSB’s ‘Celebrating Small Businesses’ Awards.

The afternoon was filled with delicious food, drink and networking with likeminded businesses from across the country. Congratulations to Dunnet Bay Distillers who’s innovative green solutions, including recyclable refill pouches, earned them the award.
